Carol Jean Fornoff May (1942 - 2009)

Carol Jean May, 67, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at a Bedford hospital surrounded by her family.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home in Fort Worth.

Carol was born June 4, 1942, in Montclair, N.J. She graduated from Montclair High School in 1960 and Englewood Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. Upon graduation, she worked for several hospitals throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Oklahoma and Colorado. In 1970, she began working at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, where her three daughters were born. Fifteen years later, she began a storied career at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital HEB, where she worked until present. She was a woman who offered a lifetime of substance, strength and humor. Carol raised a family and built a legacy in medical care and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude Fornoff, and sister, Ruth Fornoff.
Survivors: Her husband of 40 years, Robert; daughters, Michelle Devero and her husband, Rick, Melissa Banzer and her husband, T.J., and Marianne May; grandchildren, Carter and Jake Devero and Nicholas Banzer; sisters, Judie Heydt and her husband, Dr. Stuart Heydt, and Nancy Logan and her husband, Patrick; and 25 nieces and nephews.
